Coolum Womens Shed

Gentle Flow Yoga


9.30am - 10.30am

This Gentle Flow Yoga class is open to all ages and abilities, beginners are welcome.

Classes will move at a slower and steady pace, asanas (poses), there are modification and also option for more challenging asanas suitable for the students ability.

It is your practice so take what you need for the mind, body and soul. As you gain strength and flexibility you will start to feel comfortable with the poses, remember: yoga poses should never hurt so move out of the
poses if you experience any pain.

Then take time to enjoy the relaxation /savasana at the end of each classes!

Otherwise please feel free to bring your own and whatever helps you to feel most comfortable for the meditations, as some you will be lying down.

Join us for the evening as we explore Cultivating Compassion with a Loving-Kindness Meditation evening.

What is Loving-Kindness Meditation?

The Dhammapada says, “Hatred cannot coexist with love and kindness. It dissipates when supplanted with thoughts of love and compassion.” Loving-kindness meditation or ‘Metta’ meditation is an ultimate form of generous and selfless love towards ourselves and others.
Loving-kindness meditation is free from any expectations or bindings. We do not do it for accomplishing a goal or proving a point; it is merely a process to experience and enjoy.

Group Yoga Sessions for Educators, Sporting Groups or Corporate


Due to working in Early Education myself for many years, I developed low back issues and suffered from a disc bulge. With Chiropractic care over the years I have been able to manage my back issues and pain but it was YOGA that enable me not to go down the spinal surgery path.

With the gentle practice of Yoga and breathing techniques Childcare Educators can keep their back feeling strong and protected. The breathing and practice of being present are excellent tools to not only use in their personal life but in their interaction with the children in their care.

Sessions are designed with asanas (poses) especially for the back and shoulders suitable for all abilities, with a gentle flow and relaxation/savasana at the end of the session.

Sessions available for staff meetings and/or staff development days.

Also available a 6 week course " Yoga for Educators", one evening a week in the Childcare centre.
